I love theatrical photography! It's where I started my photography journey. I'm attracted to color and emotion, and I think theatre is perfect for my sensibilities. For me, its best to take photos during a dress rehearsal when actors are in full hair, costume, and make-up. I like to come twice: the first time is for me to become familiar with the play (especially if its a new play) and to become familiar with the potential stage pictures. Then, the second time I like to snap away! If there is time afterwards, its a nice idea to build in a short photo call incase there were any shots I missed that I wanted to get, or to get any close ups. I can do both indoor and outdoor theatre. With outdoor performances its best to attend a show that is well lit, like a matinee performance.
